A whole lotta big, life-altering, earth-shattering important stuff (regardless of your personal beliefs) happened in our fair city and country over the past couple of weeks. Along with some friends who've had their own personal challenges to manage.
I'm feeling the need to lighten up a little. Spread some love and cheer and my favorite things right now...Oprah style. People ask me all the time what I'm reading, watching, taking, eating, using...so here is a VERY short list. Everything from my current favorite movie, to my favorite books, to greens powder and more.
This is how I set up my life to move forward with clarity, power, love and stay in the conversation of transformation.
**(Coming to my Desire Workshop in August would be a great way to move YOUR life forward. Get the details HERE.)**
1. Hector and the Search for Happiness
"Disillusioned with the tedium of his existence, psychiatrist Hector (Simon Pegg) confesses to his girlfriend (Rosamund Pike) that he feels he is a fraud for dispensing recommendations to patients who never seem to improve or get any happier. He considers breaking out of his lackluster routine. Summoning up some courage, Hector gives his starved curiosity free rein and embarks on an international quest to find the right formula to bring him joy and vitality."
Released in 2014; can be watched on Netflix, YouTube or GooglePlay.
by Steven Pressfield
A favorite of many artists, creatives, makers and entrepreneurs, this extraordinary book is more like a reference manual for transitioning from an "amateur" life -- to "going Pro." "In this powerful, straight-from-the-hip examination of the internal obstacles of success...how to identify, defeat, and unlock the inner barriers to creativity." (Purchase here or link in sidebar.) A must for anyone looking to break out and uplevel their life.
3. HealthForce Naturals - Vitamineral Green
This is a super-power house, extremely clean and potent greens powder. I prefer to take a greens powder (mixed with water) instead of capsules. I take this every morning as insurance to make sure I get all the benefits of the plant kingdom I might not get into my diet on any given day. I love what this company stands for; it's not a marketing company, but a true superfood/supplement company. You can buy it online here, and also locally in Charleston at Eucalyptus Wellness on Coleman Boulevard. It's sometimes offered through Amazon, but not currently.
4. BeautyCounter's Nourishing Cleansing Balm
This is most luxurious, yet completely safe AND effective cleanser I've ever used. It smells amazing and makes you feel like you've just had a facial. I use it at night before bed. It removes makeup, moisturizes and cleanses. It comes with one cleansing cloth. Raspberry Seed Oil and Cranberry Seed Oil hydrate and revitalize the skin, while Vitamin C brightens skin tone. Plus, you can't beat the mission of BeautyCounter, to "put safe products in the hands of everyone." No toxic sludge here; this stuff is the real deal. Find out more or purchase here.
This is many in one, and there are thousands of podcasts out there. Everything from history, to business, to politics, to health, fitness, marketing, parenting...you can find a podcast for ANYTHING you are interested in. They are free and are my favorite way to research a topic or just relax and receive information I would have never thought to seek. I listen to them while I'm cooking dinner, talking a walk, riding in the car, doing laundry...or working.
The Rich Roll Podcast (also an app on the iPhone) - plant-based Ironman ultra-athlete, author, cookbook author and absolute favorite. You don't have to be vegan to enjoy his amazing insights and the wide array of fascinating guests.
Tim Ferriss - author of 4-Hour Workweek, 4-Hour Body, etc. He's just a badass.
The Good Life Project - Jonathan Fields interviews the best of the best in creative life and entrepreneurship.
