Are Your Patterns Working For You?

People often ask me, “How did you get to where you are? How did all...this...happen?”

Three words: Teachers. Trauma. And…

Experience.

I’ve had the great fortune to study with brilliant, world-renowned teachers. I’ve had and learned how to move through and heal traumas in my life.

The most powerful transformations came through experiences. Inserting myself into situations where my nervous system, mind, and physical body are challenged, put into states of discomfort. (Often these experiences occurred with a teacher and healing a trauma, but not all.)

This has looked like:

  • running the NYC marathon in 2019 at the age of 50

  • traveling alone to Bali and dancing on rooftops

  • holotropic breathwork in the jungle of Costa Rica

  • experiencing sexological bodywork (as seen in the Netflix series Sex, Love and goop) and a year-long VIP client experience with Jaiya

  • plant medicine experiences

  • having intense, deep, revealing conversations with my husband

  • every single aspect of being an entrepreneur and mentor

And that’s the short list. Sometimes, I was scared shitless. And that’s the point.

Putting ourselves in situations where we don’t know what’s going to happen next or we don’t know “how” to do a thing is when we learn the most about ourselves and feel what it feels like to be alive.

Humans are pattern-creating machines. The human brain (and nervous system) loves certainty and we are wired to make sense of the world around us. This is incredibly valuable in many areas of our lives. These patterns we create help keep us safe and productive.

However. When left unchecked, many patterns create stuckness, boredom, frustration, irritation, and a life of utter monotony. Even with the people we love most.

We lose contact with our Wild Nature.

This is one of the major reasons Scott and I spent a month in New York City (fall 2021) then a 3-month trip to Boulder starting in January 2022 turned into a permanent (is anything really permanent??) move to Boulder from Charleston where we lived for 16 years. To break up patterns. Nothing was wrong with the patterns we had in place, necessarily. But you often don’t know until you test yourself. We have put ourselves in a vastly wide range of experiences to feel the depth of Life, and have more planned. It’s one of the core values of our relationship.

Have we set up our lives and careers and relationships to be able to do this?

Yes.

Are we fortunate and immensely grateful for this lifestyle?

Absolutely.

And you also have your version of this possibility.

You see, I don’t want to ever stop learning. To ever stop growing. To ever stop expanding. To ever stop teaching. To ever stop experiencing and feeling life in its absolute fullest potential.

That’s the journey of Divine Feminine energy. To be a catalyst for and demonstration of the creative Life force. Lifting humans in the recognition of our unique gifts and commonality. Connecting us back to our natural, wild, erotic selves.

But your journey doesn’t have to look like mine. It’s possible to break up patterns simply by how you wake up in the morning or greet your partner when they get home from work or speak to your children when they are struggling. I invite you to look for patterns that aren’t serving you anymore and take even the smallest action.

I am also always on the lookout for making subtle adjustments to my day-to-day patterns. If you DO want to come with me in the way I practice, live, and move through life, it is possible. Just send me an email.

And get ready to see the world, and feel like you never have before.

Your Wild Nature is beyond ready to be unleashed. You feel it. I feel it.

The world needs it.

The world would split open.”
